Southern ice porcelain cobalt stain.
It’s in life’s quiet moments when one is free to embark on an introspective journey, a time for self-examination, and the sifting through of internal thoughts and feelings.
Much of my work evolves from such journeys, and reflects women’s incessant need to explore and discover their own identity and to uncover the very essence entombed beneath the surface of whom, they appear to be.
‘Self-reflection’ is not only the portrayal of emotions and feelings but; the peeling back of the external layers to expose the consciousness, and substance within us all.
The soft opaque qualities of southern ice slip, enhances the visual element of the pieces while the feminine lines and postures portray the silent monologue resonating from within.
